The Gwendraeth Railway Society was set up in 2002 to support and materially contribute to the project to re-open for passenger services the Burry Port and Gwendraeth Valley railway between Cwm Mawr, Kidwelly and Burry Port.
We are already well on the way to gaining access to the line to commence site clearance at a number of stations along the line and already have one of the original 03 locomotives under restoration at the site of the Pontypool & Blaenafon Railway with the Locomotive "Pontyberem" also awaiting attention. Rolling sock currently includes 2 General Utility Vans (GUV) which are currently in store.
